    Kick-off meeting

    We are pleased to announce that the kick-off meeting of the HOLISTIQUS project was successfully held, marking the official beginning of this exciting new collaboration.

    The meeting brought together the project team for a highly productive exchange of ideas, discussion of the main research directions, and planning of the first project activities. It provided an excellent opportunity to align our goals, define the next steps, and establish a strong foundation for the work ahead.

    During the meeting, special attention was devoted to the scientific vision of the project, its broader significance, and the ways in which the collaboration will contribute to the development of new ideas at the intersection of quantum theory, gravity, and holography. The discussion was both constructive and inspiring, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of all participants.

    We are especially glad that the project has started in such a positive and dynamic atmosphere. A successful kick-off meeting is an important first step in every collaboration, and we believe that the quality of the discussions held at this initial stage gives a strong indication of the valuable work to come.

    We look forward to the next phases of the project, future meetings, and the research results that will emerge from this collaboration.

    Meet the team

    Introducing the HOLISTIQUS team 

    HOLISTIQUS brings together a dedicated group of researchers from the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade, along with our partner from the diaspora, Professor Časlav Brukner.

    Our Belgrade team includes assistant professors Dragoljub Gočanin, Nikola Konjik, and Aleksandra Gočanin, as well as PhD students Dušan Đorđević and Ivana Đorđević.

    Together, we will explore inspiring questions at the crossroads of quantum physics, gravity, and information, while building a strong and collaborative research environment.

    HOLISTIQUS Project Kick-Off Meeting and First Official Visit

    We are pleased to announce that our Diaspora project partner, Časlav Brukner, will visit Faculty of Physics on April 14th for the first official visit within the HOLISTIQUS project.

    This visit will mark the kick-off meeting of the project, officially launching its scientific and collaborative activities. During his stay, we will initiate key discussions on the project’s research directions, with a particular focus on quantum reference frames and their role in connecting quantum information and gravitational physics.

    The visit represents an important step in strengthening collaboration between the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade and IQOQI Vienna, and sets the foundation for future joint research, training activities, and scientific exchange.

    We look forward to an inspiring start of the project and to the exciting developments ahead.

    The present report corresponds to Deliverable D2.5 and provides a systematic evaluation of the applicability of the noncommutative Ryu–Takayanagi prescription to the information loss paradox, incorporating the effects of spacetime noncommutativity.

    HINT Project Open Day

    We are pleased to invite colleagues, students, and all interested visitors to the HINT Project Open Day, taking place on 23 December 2025, starting at 14:00, at the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade.

    The Open Day marks an opportunity to present the scientific achievements of the project Towards a Holographic Description of Noncommutative Spacetime: Insights from Chern-Simons Gravity, Black Holes and Quantum Information Theory, funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. The program includes a review of the project, a poster session, a panel discussion on the future of quantum gravity, and highlights of the main research results.

    The paper presents new results developed within the HINT project and contributes to ongoing research at the intersection of quantum theory and gravity.

    Visit to Vienna – Strengthening Collaboration with IQOQI Vienna

    Principal Investigator Dr. Dragoljub Gočanin and team member Dr. Aleksandra Gočanin recently completed a research visit to Vienna, where they spent several productive days at IQOQI Vienna, one of the leading international institutes in quantum science. The visit was carried out within the framework of the project activities and aimed at strengthening international collaboration in the areas of quantum foundations and quantum gravity.

    During the visit, both participants took part in a series of seminars and scientific discussions focused on recent theoretical developments, open conceptual challenges, and emerging research directions. These activities provided an excellent platform for exchanging ideas with researchers working at the forefront of quantum information theory, gravitational physics, and related interdisciplinary fields.

    In addition to attending seminars, Dragoljub and Aleksandra participated in internal meetings and focused brainstorming sessions with institute members. Together with their host professor Časlav Brukner, they reviewed recent scientific progress, discussed complementary research approaches, and identified several promising directions for future collaboration. Special attention was devoted to potential joint publications and future research visits.

    Beyond its scientific importance, the visit significantly strengthened existing partnerships and helped establish new professional connections that will support long-term international cooperation. The stimulating and open research environment at IQOQI Vienna proved to be an excellent setting for developing new ideas and deepening ongoing collaborations.

    Overall, the visit to Vienna was highly successful and represents an important step forward in expanding the international dimension of the project. The outcomes of the visit, together with the newly outlined collaborative plans, will directly contribute to future research activities and project results.
